The TWEET Foundation's efforts to empower transgender individuals in India are highlighted through various initiatives and support services. Our "Transgender Shelter Home" project provides essential support such as food, medical services, vocational training, capacity-building, and skill development. Additionally, the foundation offers mental health counseling, medical facilities, yoga, and meditation classes at the "Respect Shelter Home." We also facilitate career guidance and employment opportunities.

Key achievements include the completion of the Garima Greh Annual Report, engagement with offices like MMRDA and DALSA to raise awareness, and a voter engagement initiative. We have worked on budgeting and collaborating with UNIT AID, conducting advocacy meetings, organizing the TWEET Anniversary event, and addressing issues faced by transmen. Orientation sessions for new CRPs, gender sensitization sessions with psychologists, and capacity-building workshops have been conducted. We've assisted in obtaining PAN and TG cards and have sensitized staff at the Regional Transport Office and during a Transwoman Meetup.

Our report includes case studies of individuals like Preety, Ahana, and Sandy, who have sought and received support for issues related to transgender card rejections, name changes in official documents, and workplace discrimination. .

Challenges faced include navigating bureaucratic processes during an election period and the need for appointments for permissions. Learned skills include public speaking, event planning, preparing SOPs, and conducting training.

Our action plan for the next month involves following up on office engagements, visiting Garima Greh, conducting a sensitization workshop, arranging camps for TG cards and eye checkups, and visiting offices to seek support for community concerns. We also plan for a Commissioner Office visit and a session on finance management and mental health for CRPs.
